Get on Board Camp

The Get on Board Travel Training summer camp aims to teach young participants with disabilities how to use Calgary Transit CTrains and buses safely and independently. This program is open to youth 12 - 19 years old with mild to moderate disability.

During camp, we’ll share safety tips from a Calgary Transit Peace Officer, trip planning, paying a fare, tour of Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility, and a presentation from Calgary Transit Customer Service.

Each camp session consists of nine hours of total instruction and activity time, with sessions spread out over three days in three-hour blocks (morning or afternoon).

Come prepared:
Prior to camp, all participants must have a waiver completed and emailed to Calgarytransitaccesstraveltraining@calgary.ca.

For each day of the program, please bring:

  • A healthy lunch and snacks for the day that doesn't require heating.
  • Refillable water bottle.
  • Any necessary medication or medical equipment (such as an epi-pen).
  • Weather appropriate clothing like sunglasses, hat, footwear, sweater/jacket, etc.
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent applied before camp.
