Register for Adaptive Programs
Inclusive recreation for all abilities, offering modified fitness, sports, and social activities in a supportive environment. Instructors tailor techniques to individual needs, helping participants build skills and confidence.
Participants requiring assistance must bring their own aide. Please read the support workers/aide expectations document before signing up for a program.
Our instructors will provide assistance in using a variety of specialized tools and selecting materials to make cards for any occasion. All supplies are provided. Assistance will be provided as needed.
Age: 13+
This inclusive dance class led in-tandem with the National accessArts Centre adapts to various mobility levels, sensory needs and disabilities. They will explore movement and creativity through playful activities in a safe, welcoming and joyful environment. If a child benefits from one-to-one support, the child’s parents/support persons are welcome to participate.
Age: 6 – 12 years
Take part in a supervised adapted hockey program intended for participants with little to no mobility. These non-competitive lessons are open to all individuals and focus on inclusivity and teamwork. Sled and stick will be provided if participants would like to try it, but is not necessary to use.
Age: 4+ years
These lessons are intended for those with cognitive impairments. You will learn basic skills needed to skate in a safe and welcoming environment. Parents, guardians and aids are encouraged to get on the ice to support participants.
Age: 13+
In partnership with Vecova, kids and teens with disabilities will focus on the three main learning stages of swimming, which are comfort, buoyancy and propulsion. There will be one instructor for every four students to allow for more individualized and tailored lessons. A parent/support person is required to be in the water with each participant for every lesson.
Age: 5 – 17 years
A supervised weight room program that will be tailored to your individual needs and goals. Workouts are mobility friendly.
Age: 18+
While wearing a blindfold, you will try to block and score with a ball that has bells inside to refine your sense of hearing. All equipment will be provided.
Age: 13+
Through drills, activities and scrimmages, you will learn the basics of sledge hockey. These non-competitive lessons are open to all individuals and focus on inclusivity and teamwork. Sled and stick will be provided.
Age: 6+
