Gentle Fitness Classes

A form of exercise that feels good, is safe and the appropriate intensity for your fitness needs. Reduce pain and maintain body function with exercises that will be modified to work for your body.

  • Level 1 classes are mostly seated, with some standing balance work. The focus is on posture and fall prevention.
  • Level 2 classes offer a choice of seated or standing activities. The focus is on functional capacity and independence.
  • Level 3 classes are active and on-your-feet. You'll be moving the whole time while avoiding the high impact of general fitness classes. 

Come prepared with the following:

  • Clean, indoor athletic shoes that have not been worn outdoors
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated
  • A swimsuit for aqua fit classes

50+ Fitness (Gentle 3) - Adult


A moderate intensity fitness class especially for aging adults. Classes will include exercises for improving cardiovascular fitness, strength, balance and flexibility. Join your peer group to keep active and have fun!

Bone Builders for Beginners (Gentle 3) - Adult


An introductory program to learn and practice exercises for bone building, stability and balance.

Bone Builders (Gentle 3) - Adult


Strengthen your bones and improve your stability and balance in this lower intensity class.

NIA: Holistic Mindful Movement (Gentle 3) - Youth & Adult


Explore the natural rhythm and power of your body in this creative movement class that blends modern and ethnic dance with mindfulness, martial arts and yoga.

Qigong (Gentle 3) - Youth & Adult


Qigong includes stretching, breathing and meditative postures and exercises, which help stimulate and balance your internal energy (Qi).

Qigong (Gentle 3) - Older Adult


This program is designed for older adults age 50+. Qigong includes stretching, breathing and meditative postures and exercises, which help stimulate and balance your internal energy (Qi).

Tai Chi (Gentle 3) - Youth & Adult


Learn to relax through breathing patterns and soft flowing movements of Tai Chi.

Yoga - Restorative (Gentle 2) - Youth & Adult


Feel refreshed and renewed as you are guided through deep relaxation, gentle yoga poses and breath work using props that support the body.
